When this company was looking for a new office location, they were also looking to improve their IT systems and support.
They contacted us after a recommendation from one of our current clients. Many of our new customers come from existing clients referring us, and this really warms our hearts and encourages us to continue doing what we do best, Exceptional Service and Reliable IT.
Initially, we helped them assess that the office spaces they were looking at had Business Grade Internet connections. Once they had signed the lease we worked with Vocus to ensure that their internet was ready for the day they moved in.
Being a mining company they opted for an onsite server to manage the security, logins for all users, printing, and a place to store some of their large files. We quoted them on this server and ensured it was set up and ready for the day they moved in.
As they were breaking away from a multi-tenanted environment we needed to copy a lot of the settings and data from the existing environment over to the new environment and migrate all the workstations and laptops into the new environment.
We also supplied port replicators and dual screens for many of the new offices. These work nicely with many different varieties of laptops including the new laptops that we outfitted.
One of their requirements was a flexible phone system that would allow their staff to easily communicate no matter where they were in the world. Qbit implemented a 3CX phone system hosted in the cloud, with handsets in the new office that was set up as hot desks. As the staff was often away from the office having a dedicated desk for each employee wasn’t economical. Thus Qbit implemented hot-desking.
With the port replicators and the 3CX phone system, a user can walk up to any workspace and plug in their laptop, giving them access to extra monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse, and charges the laptop. The employee can also log into the phone sitting at the hotdesk, which switches that phone over to their personal extension. They also utilise the app on their mobile phone and on their laptops, so no matter where they are in the world they are connected via an internal phone call to other staff members and can make calls anywhere in Australia or under their fixed rate plan.
